PhenOLIV Protect is a Natural Food Supplement using the Extra Virgin Olive Oil (EVOO) from our trees on The Greek Olive Estate with the highest level of polyphenols.
Over the past years, we have refined our practices to greatly increase the level and profile of polyphenols in our olive oil. Some of the most important phenols (like oleocanthal and oleacein) are “created” during the milling process and are not available in other forms of olive-based supplements.
The EVOO we use for PhenOLIV Protect is carefully analysed and the polyphenols are preserved in the most natural way to ensure that our olive oil has a high level of polyphenols throughout its life.
Based on its natural ingredients PhenOLIV Protect contributes to the: (1) protection of blood lipids from oxidative stress, (2) the protection of cells from oxidative stress, (3) normal functioning of the immune system, (4) maintenance of normal blood cholesterol levels
Recommended Daily Dose: 10ml (9.15g) (less than one tablespoon)

Extra Virgin Olive Oil is one of the richest sources of antioxidant substances, it has a pleasant aroma and taste and an Acidity under 0.8%. Olive oil is assimilated by our body by up to 98% (min 93.4) allowing for the absorption of the fat-soluble vitamins contained in olive oil.
The Extra Virgin Olive Oil we use in PhenOLIV Protect has an acidity of under 0.5% with strong fruit, bitter and pungent flavors and aromas of greens and citrus. PhenOLIV Protect contains Extra Virgin Olive Oil with very high levels of Polyphenols.
Oleuropein and Oleocanthal are just two of the phenols found in significant numbers in quality olive oils with high levels of polyphenols and define how bitter and pungent an olive oil will be. Polyphenols are generally measured in derivatives of Hydroxytyrosol and Tyrosol with particular phenols like Oleocanthal and Oleacein having particular interest in new research.
Tyrosol is a natural phenolic antioxidant present in a variety of natural sources. The principal source in the human diet is olive oil. As an antioxidant, tyrosol can protect cells against injury due to oxidation. This effect contributes significantly to the health benefits of olive oil and, more generally, the Mediterranean diet.
Hydroxytyrosol is a phenolic phytochemical with antioxidant properties. In nature, hydroxytyrosol is found in olive leaf and olive oil. Many other phenols break down into Hydroxytyrosol during oxidation (or aging) of Olive Oil
New Research, clinical trials and papers are constantly being released as scientists identify and research the specific health benefits associated with certain phenols. So far research has primarily focused on Oleocanthal and Oleacein which are the two phenols only found in olive oil and show promising results in the areas of neurodegenerative diseases and cancers. Scientific evidence shows that Extra Virgin Olive Oil high in polyphenols protects our health. By enhancing our immune system whilst simultaneously benefiting our heart and blood vessels and lowering our “bad” cholesterol (LDL) PhenOLIV protect contributes to our vitality, youthfulness and longevity. Extra Virgin Olive Oil also helps in the digestion of other fatty substances as it facilitates the secretions of the digestive system and also stimulates the pancreas to secrete digestive enzymes also helping in the metabolism of cholesterol.
PhenOLIV protect has a fatty acid profile with a high number of unsaturated fats which contribute to the maintenance of normal blood cholesterol levels by replacing saturated fats with unsaturated fats in the diet. Specifically PhenOLIV Protect has a fatty acid profile of: Monounsaturated Fats (MUFA) 76%, Polyunsaturated Fats (PUFA) 7% and Saturated Fats 17%.
PhenOLIV Protect is a source of two important antioxidant ingredients:
Olive Oil Polyphenols contribute to the protection of blood lipids from oxidative stress. The health claim can be used for Extra Virgin Olive Oils that contain at least 5mg of hydroxytyrosol and its derivatives (e.g. Oleuropein complex and tyrosol) per 20g of olive oil daily.
a- Tocopherols are naturally found in olive oil and have a strong antioxidant effect, provide vitamin energy and contribute to the protection of cells from oxidative stress. We add natural a-tocopherols (Vitamin E: 36.15mg per 100g of PhenOLIV Protect) toPhenOLIV Protect to help preserve the sensitive polyphenols in our product throughout its life.
PhenOLIV Protect samples show that our olive oil has a polyphenol content: Total Phenols measured using HPLC Liquid Chromatography and expressed as tyrosol = 800mg/kg. Total derivatives of hydroxytyrosol (e.g. Oleuropein complex and tyrosol) measured using NMR Spectroscopy = 2500mg/kg. This gives us the advantage that the total polyphenols (Oleuropein complex and tyrosol) are greater than the 5mg needed to make the health claim with just 10ml of PhenOLIV Protect.
Part of our profits go to supporting research at the non-profit organization “World Olive Centre for Health” which works to identify and research the health benefits associated with Olive Oil Polyphenols
