Grape varities: 100 % Tempranillo.

Ageing: 10 months in new barrels (50%) and used (50%) of French oak fine grained with a medium toast, followed by 12 months bottle ageing.

Alcohol: 13 %

D.O.Ca: Rioja.

Category: Single vineyard “La Mezana” located in El Ciego from base soils of chalk, clay and alluvions. The vines being between 35 – 50 years old with low yields of around 4500 kgs/hectare.

Selected grapes hand picked in the first week of October then taken to the cellar in baskets for table selection by hand. Alcoholic fermentation takes place in temperature controlled tanks (25-30ºC) for up to 20 days, with malolactic fermentation taking place also in the tank.

 

Tasting Notes: A cutting-edge wine that brings together the best of our vineyards and expert vinification and ageing. Its intense dark cherry-red colour, is the highest expression of the Tempranillo grapes, is an expresion of the concentration of flavors of fruit, tabacco, chocolate and oak makes this wine complex and elegant. Its rich in aromatic notes with a remarkable sensation of fullness and volume in the mouth.
